Wendell Phillip "Phil" Douglas Sr., 87, of Augusta, KS, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019 at home. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Headley Funeral Chapel. Celebration of life 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2019, at First Baptist Church, Augusta, KS. Private burial at Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado, KS. Phil was born in Mustang, OK on June 29, 1932 to the late Mary Jane (Maxey) and Everett Douglas. Phil graduated from Oklahoma A&M in 1952 and Omaha Bible Institute in 1956. He served God as a church planter in Nevada, West Virginia, and Indiana for many years. For the past 40 years he has been a resident of Butler County. He retired as an electrician from St. Francis Hospital. On June 21, 1953 he married Louise (DeVine) in Edna, KS who survives him. He is also survived by: daughter, Pamela Bissett and husband Kevin of Union Grove, WI; daughter, Paula Hicks and husband Steve of Plattsmouth, NE; son, Phil Douglas, Jr. and wife Debbie of Harrisonburg, VA; son, David Douglas and wife Debbie of Belgium, WI; daughter, Melinda Sanders and husband David of Canden Point, MO; son, Tim Douglas and wife Melissa of Brookshire, TX; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Bland of Tulsa, OK; brother, Lane Douglas and wife Cheryl of McKinney, TX; sister and brother in law, Jimna and Duane Knapp, of Augusta, KS; brother in law, Brad DeVine and wife Norma of Ponta Verde, FL. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Joyce Standlee; great grandson, Bryan Scott Douglas.
