Monte David Wilson

Monte David Wilson, 82, of Augusta, KS, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021. The family will hold a memorial service 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2021, at Prairie Hills Southern Baptist Church, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at 3:30 at Fairview Cemetery, Cheney, KS. Monte was born in Kingman, KS on February 5, 1939, to the late Lyndal May (Loomis) and Marvin Leroy Wilson. On March 3, 1963 he married Pamela (Peterson) Wilson in Kingman, KS. They lived 2 miles east of Midway, KS in Kingman County before moving to South Dakota in 1970 where he farmed. In 1977, they moved to Augusta. He worked in transportation in the oilfields, and also worked for Cessna. Monte then worked at Boeing where he retired in 2001 after 20 years. Monte enjoyed going to farm auctions. He was a member of Prairie Hill Southern Baptist Church for many years. Monte is survived by wife, Pam: daughter, Ada Jones and husband Charlie of Rose Hill, KS; brothers, Leroy Wilson and wife Linda of Cheney, KS, Gary Wilson of Kingman, KS; sisters, Dixie Bibles and husband Dean of San Antonio, TX, Sondra Russell of Blunt, SD; grandchildren, Tyler Jones and wife Dasha, Tiffany Jones, Travis Jones; great grandchildren, Colt Wade, Sophia Jones. In lieu of flowers, any memorial contributions may be given directly to Pamela Wilson.
