James Allen McReynolds, 69, of Joplin, MO, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022 in Joplin, MO. Visitation 1:00 p.m. and service to follow at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Andover Cemetery, Andover, KS. James was born in Wichita, KS on March 10, 1953, to the late Beverly Earlene (Burris) and James Alvin McReynolds. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a shipping crew chief at Beech Aircraft for 30 years. James enjoyed fishing, golfing, and bowling, and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He was an active A.A. member in Neosho, MO and Augusta, KS and played on their softball recovery team. On April 10, 1993, 100 days after they first met, he married Sandra S. (Anderson) Bowdre in Augusta, KS. She survives him along with: daughters, Shirena Green and husband Daniel of Wichita, KS, Heather Dextradeur and husband Jason of Virginia Beach, VA; step son, Bryan Bowdre of Joplin, MO; brothers, Larry McReynolds of Ft. Smith, AR, Jerald McReynolds of Wichita, KS, Rick McReynolds of Augusta, KS; sister, Kathryn Cannaby and husband Stephen of Augusta, KS; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his step son, Robert Bowdre; step daughter, Lisa Cave.
