Jackie John Gean

Jackie John Gean, 73, of Augusta, KS, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020. Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Inurnment at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS. Jackie was born in Clarksville, AR on January 14, 1947, to the late Anna (Schweppenstedde) and Calvin Gean. He served in the U.S. Army as a SP4 in the Vietnam War. Jackie retired from Cessna as a building maintenance employee. Jackie was handy and enjoyed restoring and repairing cars, working on home improvement projects, and also going to auctions. On August 29, 1970 he married Connie (Kirk) Gean in Wichita, KS who survives him. He is also survived by: son, Jeff Gean of Colorado Springs, CO; daughters, Carol Shaver of Wichita, KS, Lisa Beck of Lawrence, KS, Kelsey Roberson and husband Earnest of Wichita, KS; brother, Lewis Gean of WA; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Gean; half brothers, Calvin Gean, Jr., Bob Gean; sisters, Joyce Grunden, Mary Offield, and Anna Lou Stafford.
