Gary "Buck" Leedom Obituary

Gary "Buck"  Leedom, 78, of Augusta, KS, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at home in Augusta. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at First Baptist Church, Augusta, KS. Private family graveside service will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS.  Buck was born in Wichita, Kansas on May 7, 1944, to the late Arleen Donna (Wadsworth) and Theirl "Catt" Leedom. After he graduated from Augusta High School, he then went to Southwestern College, where he played basketball. Buck returned to Augusta in 1975 to open B & B Sporting Goods, and then worked in sales and finance most of his life. Following in his father's footsteps, he was a key influence in the Augusta sporting community, which included spearheading the development of the Rodney Wheeler Memorial Baseball Stadium. He was an avid Kansas City Royals and Kansas Jayhawk fan. Buck is survived by his daughters, Kim Cannady and husband Mike of Augusta; and Sherri Leedom of Wichita; son, Brent Leedom and wife Michelle of Andover; sister, Linda Williams and husband Louie of Augusta; grandchildren, Erika (Trint), Logan (Julianne), Jordan (Mary), Maddy and Easton; great grandchildren, Taylen, Ensley, and Callahan, and nephews, Eric, David and Chris Williams. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelli Leedom. Memorial donations may be made to LVAD team c/o Integris Health Foundation, P.O.
