Obituary

Evelyn Willing passed away January 3, 2023 at Lakepoint, Augusta, KS. Evelyn was born April 12, 1924 to Pearl (Shuey) and Lee Powers. Evelyn was a graduate of Augusta senior high school. She had worked as a clerk and bookkeeper for Kansas Gas Services, and Mobil Oil Refinery. Evelyn was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Augusta, a master quilter, and in her later years, a wonderful helper to her sister, Jewell Mahannah. On June 20, 1948 she married Harold Allen Willing in Augusta, KS. Evelyn is survived by her nephews and nieces and her great nephews and great nieces. She was the last surviving member of the Lee and Pearl Powers family. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; and her siblings, Howard Powers, Leona McDowell, Jewell Mahannah, and Rodney Powers. She was a loving aunt and a dear sweet woman. Visitation 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.  Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Graveside service 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2023, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Memorial donations to First Baptist Church 1501 State St. Augusta, KS 67010.
