Connie Steed

Connie Steed, 74, of Benton, KS, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 in Wichita, KS. Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2022, at Augusta First Church of the Nazarene, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Benton Cemetery, Benton, KS. Connie was born in Ft. Collins, CO on September 17, 1947, to the late Geneva Maxine (Hawkins) and Gail William Casady. She was a hospital unit clerk at Wesley for 25 years and later retired from Ascension Via Christi. Connie enjoyed crocheting as well as baking and cooking. On March 13, 1966 she married Marvin L. Steed in Benton, KS. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Larry and Randy Casady. She is survived by: sons, Lonnie Marvin Steed of Wichita, KS, Ryan Gail Steed of El Dorado, KS; daughter, Sharon Young and husband Ray of Latham, KS; brothers, Danny Casady and wife Betty of Pocahontas, AR, Rick Casady and wife Joyce of Benton, KS; sister, Kathy Walter of Benton, KS; sister in law, Sue Van Dyke of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Tanner and Kyle Steed, Vanessa Young, Charity Haworth, Josiah "Hoss" Young, and Cali Young; great grandchildren, River, Ryzan, Wrecklan, and Aydin Haworth.
