Charles P. Flores, 78, of El Dorado, KS, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023 in Wichita, KS. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023 and service 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Rose Hill, KS with military graveside rites. Charles was born in Liberal, KS on May 20, 1945, to the late Betty Lou (Montgomery) and Amado Flores. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a Farrier for most of his life, and had also worked at Getty/Texaco/Equilon Oilfield as a gang hand retiring after 25 years. On February 17, 1968 he married Charlotte (Clinger) Flores in Rose Hill, KS who survives him. He is also survived by: sons, Jason Flores and wife Colette of El Dorado, KS, and Jared Flores and fiancé Chrisi Norris of Garden Plain, KS; brothers, Larry Flores of Douglass, KS, Richard Flores of Augusta, KS, and Butch Flores and wife Marsha of Douglass, KS; sisters, Sue Forsythe and husband Harold of Augusta, KS, Mary Jo Roberts and husband Bob of Douglass, KS, and Jean Landrith of Coffeyville, KS; grandchildren, Kyle Flores (Kassey), Katie Hinde (David), Tehl Lynn, Rio Flaharty, Weston Hill, Cortlyn Hill; great grandchildren, Karsyn, Kolter, Kavin, Hunter, Harper, and Hudson; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Marie Flores; nephew, Jake Flores. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in care of Headley Funeral Chapel for a student who will enroll in the Oklahoma Horse Shoeing School.
