Betty Lou Miles

Betty Lou Miles, 88, of Douglass, KS, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at home. A private graveside service will take place at Douglass Cemetery, Douglass, KS. Betty was born in Rural Elk City, KS on August 29, 1931, to the late Bessie Lela (Harbour)  and Robert Byron Sherwin. She was a secretary at Boeing for 36 years. Reading, playing piano, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren were some of her favorite things to do. On May 26, 1951 she married Loren E. Miles in Independence, KS. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1974. She is survived by: daughters, Kathy Mitchell and husband Mark of Douglass, KS, Karen Cheatwood and husband Jerry of Douglass, KS, and Connie Holt and husband Brad of Winfield, KS; grandchildren, Stacey Schouten, Kevin Schouten and wife Kindra, Stewart Mitchell and wife Melissa, Chris Mitchell, Amy Smith, Amber Groene and husband Ryan, Mark Newman and husband Ralph Augsburger; great grandchildren, Lane Smith, Ashley Smith, Cassidy Schouten, Kinley Schouten, Kelsey Schouten, Maddison Mitchell, Nathan Groene; brother, Jack Sherwin of Independence, KS. She was preceded in death by her brother, Max Sherwin; sisters, Margie Blackmore, and Barbara Miles. Memorial donations to  Home Health & Hospice of Kansas  7607 E Harry St. Wichita, KS 67207.
