Salvador Jorge Tovar

Salvador Jorge Tovar, age 53, of Augusta, Kansas, passed away on December 18, 2025, as a result of a motorcycle accident south of El Dorado. He was born on May 8, 1972, to Salvador Tovar and Zelda Ann (Watson) Tovar.

Salvador married Medesta Howe-Tovar on April 20, 2021, in Arkansas City, Kansas, with Evangelist Ronnie Brown officiating. Salvador and Medesta were together for 12 years and married for 4 years, while raising their two daughters, Abi and Kasi Sherer.

Metal Arts and various other places employed Salvador.

Salvador especially loved his dogs, Bear and Meka, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He never felt more alive than when he was riding his bike. Salvador was an amazing artist; he drew and painted pictures, as well as did woodworking. He had a heart of gold, open to anyone who needed a friend.

Salvador is survived by his wife, parents, step-daughters, brother Miguel Tovar, sisters Misti Steger, Mia Andrews (Wes), Melissa Tovar, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

Salvador is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Joyce Burton, his paternal grandparents, Enrique Tovar and Enriqueta Trevino, Special grandparents, Clara and Gordan DeWeese. and his uncle Enrique Tovar, Jr.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 29, 2025, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church Gymnasium. The Memorial Services will follow at 11:30 a.m., with Evangelist Ronnie Brown and Uncle Jackie Barnett. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
