Robert "Bob" Lee Bassingthwaighte

Robert Lee Bassingthwaighte was born in Dallas, Texas on October 26th, 1945 to Lyda Jane (Keel) Bassingthwaighte and James Edward Bassingthwaighte. The Bassingthwaighte's had one older son, James Edward Bassingthwaighte Jr. Bob's childhood was filled with many adventures in the Boy Scouts, he even earned the title of Eagle Scout. In high school he went on to become a track athlete. Bob's adventurous spirit led him all around the world doing an assortment of dangerous jobs such as working as a construction worker on high-rise buildings, and as a deep-sea saturation diver. Bob married Patricia (Goucher) in 1993 and raised his children Dirk Edward Bassingthwaighte and Tara Jean (Bassingthwaighte) Lockamy, in Kansas where he passed away in Wichita on November 1st, 2026. Bob is survived by wife, Tricia Bassingthwaighte; son, Dirk Bassingthwaighte and wife Melanie Pratt; daughter, Tara (Bassingthwaighte) Lockamy and husband Trent Lockamy; granddaughter, Audryana Christine Bassingthwaighte; brother, Edward Bassingthwaighte Jr. and wife Carolyn (Willet) Bassingthwaighte. The family will hold a memorial service 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at First Christian Church, Augusta, KS.
