Richard "Rick" Gash, Jr., 53, of Augusta, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026. He was born September 1, 1972, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Richard Gash, Sr. and Sharon (Orr) Gash.
Rick proudly served his country in the United States Army and later enjoyed careers as a medical sales representative and landscaper. He especially enjoyed his work as a landscaper, where he could be outdoors, work with his hands, and take pride in creating something beautiful. Throughout his life, however, it was the people he loved and the simple moments shared with them that meant the most.
Rick had a love for the outdoors, especially fishing, and could often be found enjoying time with family and friends. Music was another important part of his life. He loved playing guitar, whether gathered around with family and friends or performing for a crowd. His music was a way of bringing people together, sharing a laugh, and creating memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Above all, Rick loved his family. He will be remembered for the moments he shared with his children, grandson, siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends. His presence, his music, and the memories he created with those around him will be deeply missed.
Rick is survived by his parents, Richard and Sharon Gash of Las Cruces, New Mexico; his sons, Richard Gash III and Titus Gash; his daughters, Alexa Daniel and Madeline Gash; his grandson, Sawyer; his brothers, Adam Gash, John (Kim) Gash, and Mike Gash; his sisters, Dawn (Brian) Bush, Amy Gash, Mary (Wes) Leach, and Elizabeth (Jon) Delnegro; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and countless memories that will be treasured for years to come. Though he is no longer here to play another song on his guitar, cast another fishing line, tend to a landscape he took pride in, or sit among the people he loved, his memory will remain in the stories told, the music played, the beauty he helped create, and the lives he touched.
A rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 24, 2026, with the funeral service following at 10:30 a.m., both at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta, Kansas.
Memorial donations may be made to The Lord's Diner, 520 N Broadway Wichita, KS 67214.
