R. Irene Martin

R. Irene Martin, 81, of Andover, KS, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 in Augusta. Memorial service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Andover United Methodist Church, Andover, KS. Private burial at Andover Cemetery, Andover, KS. Irene was born in Enid, OK on October 9, 1943, to the late Opal Roberta (Ridgway) and Frank Omer Buss. Irene received her bachelor's degree in music education and was a lifelong piano player. She used her gift giving piano lessons for several years. Irene was a long time accompanist at Andover United Methodist Church alongside her good friend, Laurel Delimont. After she retired, she accompanied for many soloists, musical groups, and musicals. She also worked in telex communications at Koch Industries for a number of years. On August 16, 1964 she married Robert Myrl Martin in Hunter, OK. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Donald Buss. She is survived by: daughters, Chelli Cranmer (Rodney) and Kelli Martin; grandchildren, Catherine Robert (Bret), Robby Martin (Haley), Corey Cranmer (Tera), and Rebekah Martin (Alex); great granddaughter, Lucy Robert.
