Patti Jo Plett

Patti Jo (Armstead) Plett was born in Topeka, KS on July 30, 1956 and passed away on September 13, 2025 at the age of 69. She was the daughter of Patty (Heugel) and Wallace Wilkerson, and Eugene and Diane Armstead. In 1978 she married Timothy Plett in Cassoday. They had 43 years together before he passed away in 2021. She and Tim lived near Cassoday for many years before moving to rural Rose Hill in 2012.

In 1990 Patti earned a degree in elementary education from Emporia State University. Later she received her Master's degree in special education from ESU. For 20 years she was employed by the Butler County Interlocal to teach students with special needs in Cassoday and Rosalia.

Patti enjoyed collecting vintage items, history, reading, travel, hiking and gardening. She loved spending time with her family and doing things with them.

Patti is survived by a son, Travis Plett, daughter-in-law, Sara Plett, and grandchildren, Hudson Plett and Tesla Plett of rural Rose Hill. Other survivors include two brothers, Jack Armstead and his wife Betsy of Topeka, and Wallace Wilkerson and his wife Debbie of Olathe; three sisters, Linda Trent of El Dorado, Lynn Grillo and Nancy Donovan of Virginia.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Memorial donations may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market Wichita, KS 67202 or PBS - Kansas, 8710 E 32nd St. North, Wichita, KS 67226.
