Oliver Leroy Kerns

Oliver Leroy Kerns, 88, of Augusta, KS, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025 at home. Visitation 9:00 a.m. with service following at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS. Oliver was born in Centralia, OK on May 8, 1937, to the late Fern (West) and Ted Kerns. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He later worked as an AMP Mechanic for American Airlines. Oliver was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 40years. He was also a member of the Shriner's, the Masonic Lodge, and the Nazarene Church. Oliver spent many years volunteering handing out food at both the Armory and the Caring Center. He loved visiting with people, and those who knew him will fondly remember him joking with and teasing them. He is survived by: longtime partner, Felipa Valientes; sister, Faye Tabor; 2 daughters; numerous grandchildren; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ron, Floyd, and Francis Kerns; sister, Rose Rodriguez. Memorial donations to Augusta Senior Center 640 Osage Augusta, KS 67010 or Gideon's International P.O.
