Neal Patrick Spies

Neal Patrick Spies, 82, of Augusta, KS, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at home. Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2025 and service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2025, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Graveside services to follow 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2024 at Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Winfield, KS. Neal was born in St. Louis, MO on January 9, 1942, to the late Margaret V. (Mudd)  and Harold E. Spies. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Neal retired as a flight mechanic from Boeing after 21 years in 1999. He had been a member of the Butler County Saddle Club, and Augusta VFW. On May 17, 1967, he married Linda Sue (Norvel) in Elsberry, MO. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2023.  He is survived by: son, Dwane Patrick Spies and wife Mina of Augusta, KS; son, Neal Christopher Spies and wife Kimberly of Rose Hill, KS; daughter, Ruth Krug of Wichita, KS; daughter, Angie McFall of Mulhall, OK; daughter, Melinda Jabara and husband Bacheus of Sedgwick, KS; daughter, Margaret Golembiewski and husband RJ of Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren, Noel, Gabriel, EJ, Daylan, Zane, Emma, Michael, Arin, Holley, Tyson, Haddie, Kaden, Ryker, Akira, Madelyn, and Seleste; 6 great grandchildren; and brothers, Gene Spies and wife Jane of Elsberry MO and Dennis Spies and wife Joyce of St. Peters, MO;  He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth June Sauls.
