Myron Lee Bowman, 72, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025 in Wichita, KS. He was born on August 29, 1952 in Saint Francis, KS to the late William G. and Hazel F. Bowman (Spraggins). Myron was the youngest of 7 siblings. In 1971, Myron graduated from Augusta High School. After graduation he married Blenda Hoskinson on August 10, 1974 in Augusta, KS, they were married for 23 years. They raised two daughters, Sarah (Bowman) Lybarger and Beth (Bowman) Bartholomew in Winfield, KS.
Myron worked for the City of Augusta line department and KDOT but his most meaningful work included carpet laying and woodcarving. Inspiring and teaching adults and children how to carve was his passion. Myron enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his dogs, camping, drawing pictures of people and 3D images, and watching and quoting his favorite movies. He found joy in playing his guitars and harmonica and had a deep love of music. He liked making people laugh and telling stories about his life.
He will be missed by his family: Sarah Lybarger (Eric), of Winfield, KS, Beth Bartholomew (Erik), of Pocatello, ID, grandchildren Emily (Winfield), Eli (Pocatello), Victoria and Jordan (Winfield), Rileah (Pocatello), Olivia (Winfield), Blenda, Connie and Greg (Augusta). He is survived by his sister, Delores Frantz, Lincoln, Kansas and Mike (Ark City) who was like a son to him.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held on January 1, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at College Hill Coffee at 403 Soward, Winfield, Kansas. Please feel free to bring your musical instrument and join in a jam session. Guests will be invited to create their own origami and Spirograph designs inspired by two of Myron's favorite pastimes. Myron has requested that his ashes be dispersed among family and scattered in the mountains and ocean.
