Loyd Charles Sims

Loyd Charles Sims, 81, of Augusta, KS, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026 in Wichita. Loyd was born in Hermosa Beach, CA on November 25, 1944, to the late Helen (McAfee) and Willard Sims. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Loyd spent his career working in the aircraft industry at numerous places as an assembler and manager. On January 23, 1970 he married Joyce (Simon) Sims at St. James Catholic Church who survives him. He is also survived by: sons, Lee Sims and wife Erica of Afton, CO, and Randy Sims of Augusta, KS; sisters, Barbara Lyon of Long Beach, CA, and Beverly Cheslic of Augusta, KS; sister in law, Cindy Swan; grandchildren, Keeton, Hallie, Ace, Sammy, and Evan Sims. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Tom Sims. No services are planned.
