Leon J. Lanzrath

Leon J. Lanzrath, 64, farm business manager, died suddenly on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Visitation with the family will take place Sunday, June 15, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel (813 State Street, Augusta. Kansas 67010). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 16, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church (1012 Belmont Avenue, Augusta, Kansas 67010).

Leon was a loving and supportive father and grandfather. For the last four years, he lovingly cared for his elderly mother. He lived by his word and was always willing to help anyone who asked. Rarely did he ask for help for his own needs. When he put his mind to something, he completed the task. He loved training horses and dogs and enjoyed being outdoors. He was a deer hunter with a special love for archery. He also created some beautiful stained-glass artwork.

Leon is survived by: his daughter, Jessica (Eric) Glenn; his granddaughter, Harper Glenn; his mother, Mary Kay Lanzrath; his brothers, Rev. John Lanzrath and Jerry (Tonia) Lanzrath; his niece, Leighann Lanzrath; and nephews, Houston Asher-Laws, Cyrus Asher, Xavier Asher and Gabriel Lanzrath. Leon is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Lanzrath, and brother, David Lanzrath.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial is established in the name of Ward Performance Horses (9200 East 39th Street South, Derby, Kansas 67037).
