John Douglas "Doug" Bode

John Douglas "Doug" Bode, 70, of Augusta, KS, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026 at home. A private family graveside serivce will be held at Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Winfield, KS. Doug was born in Chamberlain, SD on January 3, 1956, to the late Verna Lucille (Heinrich) and John Martin Bode. He served in the U.S. Navy. Doug worked as a custodian at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Augusta High School, and Towanda Schools, and also worked for the City of Augusta Water Depatment. He is survived by son, David Landon Bode; daughter, Ana Marie Bode, sisters, Linda Knott and husband Tom and Lana Murphy and husband Bill of Wichita; and a brother James Bode. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Hickerson Gaines.
