Jimmie Allen Hatter

Jimmie Allen Hatter, 83, of Leon, KS, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026 at home. Graveside service 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Leon Cemetery, Leon, Kansas. Jimmie was born in Sallisaw, Oklahoma on August 14, 1942, to the late Ruth Aleen (Bolden) and J. D. Hatter. He retired as a scale house employee from Holly Frontier refinery. Jimmie enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce away with many friends and neighbors. He also knew no stranger and called every one by name or he gave them the name "Good Buddy". He loved having his family over especially his grandchildren, teaching them driving lessons in the topped off truck in the north field. He would teach fishing, but if you got your line stuck in a tree, you were on your own. Jimmie is survived by his son, Ron Hatter of Leon; daughter, Shelley Elliott and husband Phillip of Towanda; brother, Sammy Hatter of Glenpool, OK; sisters, Jaydena Church of Augusta; and Sherry Martin of Claremore, OK; grandchildren, Terri McMurray (Jaime), Traci Mena (Amanda), Nathan McMurray, Paij Weaver (Jon), Payne Hatter, Shelby Hatter, Colton Hatter, Dani McFadden (Jodi) and River Elliott; great grandchildren, Brenton Schellhamer, Brooklyn Schellhamer, Riley Burke, Lily Gorges, Mathew McMurray, Jamison Weaver, and Lydia Weaver; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many caregivers from Hospice and his former daughter in law, Annette Hatter who was very special to him. He was preceded in death by his son, Rob; brother, Jerry; and sisters, Lila Hagebusch, Regeina Duggins and Charlotte Hatter; and a companion, Alice Allen.
