Jerry D. "J.D." Reed, 77, of Augusta, KS, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025 in Wichita. Visitation 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Headley Funeral Chapel. Service 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Quito Cemetery, KS. Jerry was born in Harper, KS on June 11, 1948, to the late Norma (Carr) and Herman Tillman Reed. He was a dairy farmer for much of his life raising Jersey cattle. He later worked as a guard at El Dorado Correctional Facility. He also liked taking care of chickens and gardening, having quite the green thumb. He is survived by: son, Heath Reed (Kelly Greeve) of El Dorado, KS; daughter, Brittany McLeod and husband Matt of Pennsylvania; sisters, Connie Causey of Texas and Shari Pope of Harper, KS; brother, Denzil Reed and wife Cookie of Harper, KS; 5 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
