Frances (Fran) Elizabeth Agatha (Turner, Payne) Healy, 81, of Augusta, KS went home to the Lord on January 9, 2026.
Frances was born on July 22, 1944 to Lloyd and Hazel Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, four sisters, her 1st husband and love, Stephen (Steve) Payne, her 2nd husband and soulmate, Clifton (Cliff) Healy, her daughter, Kristina (Kristi) Payne, and her granddaughter, Destiny Harrison.
She is survived by three of her siblings: David Turner (Marcia), Carol (Turner) Goss (Ron), and Richard Turner (Faye), along with her four sons: Steve Payne (Lisa), Tom Payne (Liz), Jesse Payne (Cindy), and Don Payne (Sheri), and children by marriage: son, Clifton Healy, daughters, Kim (Paul) Ralston (Healy), and Stephanie (Brian) Goldsmith (Healy). Frances is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, and her companion, Terry Coats.
She enjoyed the beauty of nature and had a passion for gardening. She always had the most beautiful flowerbeds with every kind of flower, especially roses. They have a special place in her heart.
Frances was selfless and generous. She wanted to help others whether it was delivering meals for the senior center or making desserts for birthdays or celebrations. Frances wanted to take care of those who crossed her path. When visiting, she almost always had a delightful treat prepared or something she wanted her guests to have. She enjoyed gifting to others.
Frances’s greatest accomplishments were being a supportive wife and nurturing mother. She always put everyone’s needs ahead of her own. She said her family was her very heartbeat. Frances found joy in spending time with her loved ones, especially her kids and grandkids. She believed that “kids are the very essence of love and make life worth living”. Frances will always be remembered as someone who continually displayed gentleness and love to everyone she met.
She had a heart for the Lord. Through the loss of so many people who were near and dear to her, Frances continued to trust God and show His love for others in every interaction. She looked forward to seeing her loved ones who had passed before her again in heaven, especially her mom and daughter. Frances had two favorite Bible verses. They were Isaiah 40:31 - "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” and John 3:16 - “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
As the Lord commands, Frances surrounded herself with love and generosity no matter how hard life was. The proof is shown by how many hearts she touched throughout life. As much as we all will miss her on Earth, we all know there will be a bigger reunion up in Heaven and one day, we will all embrace each other once again.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026, at First Baptist Church, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Memorial donations may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market Wichita, KS 67202.
