Edward Richard "Cap" Bunyard

Edward Richard "Cap" Bunyard, 97, of Rose Hill, KS, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025. Visitation 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025 and service 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery Rose Hill, KS. Cap was born in Fall River, KS on March 13, 1928, to the late George Clay and Julia Edna (Smith) Bunyard. He retired as a sheet metal mechanic building aircraft doors at Beech Aircraft after working there for 36 years. On October 25, 1952 he married Gwendolyn Marie (Guthrie) Bunyard in Larned, KS who survives him. He is also survived by: son, George Bunyard and wife Melissa; daughter in law, Donna Bunyard; grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson-Ikner (Paul Martin), Amanda Gaddis (Tracy), Cody Bunyard (Corbin), Katie Gumfory (Matt), Matthew Bunyard (Alexis), Michael Bunyard; great grandchildren, Trevor Johnson, Madelynn Ikner, Brenten, Brayden, Makenna and Braxton Gaddis, Grace and Addison Gumfory, Saige and Timber Bunyard. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Rierson; son, Gary Bunyard; brother, John Bunyard; sisters, Clara Holderman, Maude Burris, and Pearl Vanderpool.
