Dena Verlee Parrish

Dena Verlee Parrish, 89, of Augusta, KS, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026. Private graveside service on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Verlee was born in Fredonia, KS on April 17, 1936, to the late Lois (Royse) and Edgar Harris. She was a homemaker for most of her life, caring for her family with love. She was an avid reader, and also enjoyed movies, cooking, ceramics, and crochet. When Neal was alive, they loved to travel together. She was also a big KU Basketball fan. On May 24, 1954 she married Neal O. Parrish in Arcadia, KS. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Philip Harris. She is survived by: sons, Ben Parrish and wife Kathy of Augusta, KS, and Barry Parrish and wife Robin of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Natalie Hartman (Kyle), Sarah Gruver (Jarrod), Isaiah Johnson, Nicholas Tate (Emily), Matthew Parrish (Victoria); 4 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta Public Library, 1609 State St Augusta, KS 67010.
