Charles W. "Bill" Nesler, 84, of Augusta, KS, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Bill was born on January 25, 1941 to Owen and Edna Mae (Kelley) Nesler in Gordon, KS.
Bill grew up in the Augusta area and then joined the United States Air Force. After serving in the Air Force, he began working at Beech Aircraft. In 1973, he bought the State Lounge in Augusta. Bill married Beverly (Schull) in 1974. After many years of hard work, Bill retired from Hawker-Beech, and sold the State Lounge.
Even in retirement he never quit working, either picking up trash with Bev on the golf cart or mowing their yard and often other yards in their neighborhood.
His wit and brutally honest sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Bill is survived by: wife, Beverly; sons, Billy (Debbie) Nesler of Fredricksburg, VA, Richard Lee Nesler of District Heights, MD, and Jonnie (Sharon) Nesler of Bel Haven, NC; daughter, Connie (Fred) McElroy of Augusta, KS; sisters, Shirley Shaffer of Augusta; Kathleen Northcutt of Wichita grandchildren, Jacy (Chris) Dennis of Wichita, KS, Elizabeth (Dylan) Rackler of Dennet, TX, Jon Paul Nesler (Ashley Danforth) of Lubbock, TX, Cameron Nesler of Canton, IA, Kennedy Nesler of Vinton, IA, Caleb (Carney) McElroy of Clearwater, KS, Kaden Nesler of Canton, IA, Kelly (Jacob) Sapp of Ashburn, VA, Chuck (Jen) Nesler of McGaheysville, VA, Thomas Pegram of Greenville, NC, Anthony Pegram of Bel Haven, NC, Samantha Carter of Bel Haven, NC, and Rico Nesler of FL; great grandchildren, Grayson and Braydon Rackler, Jaden and Trinity Dennis, Lucus, Ben, Zachary, and Noah Sapp, Liam and Caden Nesler, Armon Nesler, Alex and Donna Siu, Hailey, Kailey, Natilee, David, and Levi Pegram, and Stetson McElroy.
Bill was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Gene, Richard, Dennis, Jerry Lee, and Gerald "Butch" Nesler; sisters, Ruth Ann Nesler, Joyce Fessler, and Darlene Ingram; daughter, Cheryl Swann; sons, Ronnie and Donnie Nesler, and great granddaughter, Abree Pegram.
Cremation has taken place and per Bill's wishes there will be no service.
