Betty Jean Ewald

Betty Jean Ewald, 94, of Augusta, KS, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Visitation will be 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2025 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. The family will hold a memorial rosary at 1:00 p.m. with funeral mass at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at St. James Catholic Church, Augusta, KS. Reception to follow. Betty was born in Pontiac, Michigan on October 20, 1930, to the late Mildred (Buxton) and James Martin. She held many jobs over the years and had worked as a clerk at many different stories. On March 13, 1950 she married Carl Jacob Ewald in Pontiac, Michigan. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Carl; her 8 babies; grandson, Joseph Mosier; great grandson, Oliver Brundege; 3 brothers; 4 sisters. She is survived by: sons, James Ewald (Bonnie), Thomas Ewald (Pamela), Steven Ewald (Paula); daughters, Carla Schwab, Sherry Ewald, Penny Mosier (Dennis), Ellen Martinez (Steve); 39 grandkids, 110 greats and 43 great greats.
