Annette Renee Blakesley

Annette Renee Blakesley, 58 of Augusta, KS, peacefully passed Thursday, July 23, 2026 at home surrounded by her family and closest friends. Visitation will be held 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. with a service following at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, both at First Baptist Church Augusta, KS. Annette's final resting place will be at the Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, MO at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Annette was born in Bethany, MO on March 25, 1968, to Helen (McReynolds) Robinson and the late Jackie Lee Robinson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Aaron Lee Robinson.

Annette was the cornerstone of her family as well as the family cutting horse business "Blakesley Cutting Horses" that she operated alongside her husband Dirk. Her official title of "Queenie" included the many roles & responsibilities of secretary, bookkeeper, disciplinary enforcer, and grounds maintainer but truthfully, she was known as "The Boss." She lived a life devoted to God and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church.

Annette was wonderfully talented and enjoyed a wide range of crafting. She was a great sewer and made amazing scrapbooks for her family and children to enjoy. She was an incredibly knowledgeable and sharp gal who loved to constantly read and watch the birds. She knew how to design the prettiest gardens and cook the best homemade dinners.

On May 16, 1987, she married Dirk Blakesley, who survives her. She is also survived by: daughter, Delaney Stringer and husband Miles; son, Trace Blakesley and wife Raine; mother, Helen Robinson; mother-in-law, Linda Fowler; sister, Crystal Manning and husband Jeff; brother-in-law, Al Blakesley; and dear friends, Dana and Wilma Larsen, and Mike and Shae Latta. She was also joyfully anticipating the arrival of her first grandbaby.
