Obituary

William J. "Bill" Ridder, 86, of Augusta, KS, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019. Rosary 5:30 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019, at St. James Catholic Church, Augusta, KS. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Bill was born in Wichita, KS on June 12, 1932, to the late Edna (Timmermeyer) and Maurice Ridder. Bill graduated high school from St. Mary's Cathedral. He served as a U.S. Marine in the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart for his services. Later, Bill worked as a tool designer and retired from Cessna after 37 years. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing, camping, and traveling. On May 4, 1957 he married Rose (Dempewolf) Ridder at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Blackwell, OK  who survives him. He is also survived by: son, Phillip Ridder of Augusta, KS; daughter, Ellen Wilson of Augusta, KS; son, Paul Ridder and wife Linda of Lincoln, KS; daughter, Anita Bennett and husband Scott of Wytheville, VA; son, Bart  Ridder and wife Lori of Augusta, KS; son, Matt Ridder of Augusta, KS; daughter, Lori Cook and husband Bryce of El Dorado, KS; 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
