Patricia "Pat" Barker Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Barker, 83, of Augusta, KS, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Lakepoint of Augusta. Visitation Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. with service at 11:00 a.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Pat was born in Wichita, KS on January 13, 1936, to the late Lenita "Skeet" (Dodge) and Charles Govenus. She graduated from Augusta High School in 1955. On February 3, 1956 she married Wrex Barker. He preceded her in death. She was a Marine housewife and homemaker for many years until her husband retired, and later in life she took care of her grandkids. Pat loved her children, grandchildren, and dogs. She enjoyed being outside and traveling. She is survived by: son, Monty Barker and wife Joan of Mt. Home, AR; daughter, Lenita Lohman and husband Robert "Bob" of Augusta, KS; grandchildren, Brandon (Molly) Lohman of Manhattan, KS, Brice (Erin) Lohman of Derby, KS, Jordan (Mi) Barker of Fayetteville, AR, Ashley (Garrett) Nelson of Fort Smith, AR; great grandchildren, Cora and Grant Nelson; brother, Kenneth Biggs and wife Joyce of Andover, KS; several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations to Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219 or Lest Never Forget Our Heroes to support U.S. Marines, 3690 Russell Rd., Woodbridge, VA 22192.
