Milo G. Stock, Jr., 97, of Winfield, KS, formerly of Augusta, KS passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 in Winfield. Graveside service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Cumberland Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Milo was born in Sylvan Grove, KS on November 3, 1921, to the late Helen and Milo G. Stock, Sr. He served in the U.S. Navy as an Electronic Technician Mate 2nd class during WW II in the South Pacific. While serving in the Navy, he became acquainted and served with John F. Kennedy as a commander of PT 109. After being injured in a Japanese attack, he returned to the states where he helped process returning sailors. It was during this time that Milo met his wife, Mary L. (Ward) Stock in Chicago. Milo and his wife soon returned to Kansas. Milo became an electrical engineer at Boeing where he worked on B52 Bombers, SR71 Blackbirds, and Stealth Bombers for over 40 years. He is survived by: son, Mike Stock; granddaughter, JoAnna "Jojo" Stock. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Stock; daughter, Sharon Stock; brother, Earl Stock; sister, Bonnie Duncan.
