Mary Ann Burns

Mary Ann Burns, 86, of Augusta, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Monday, March 11, 2019 at Headley Funeral Chapel. Service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at First Southern Baptist Church, Augusta.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Mary Ann was born in El Dorado, KS, July 19, 1932, to the late Artie Mae (Goodson) and Ralph Andrew Gilliland. She was an office manager at Trico, Inc. and Pizza Hut, Inc. and retired from Pizza Hut, Inc. in 1995. Mary Ann worked as a lunch aide for the USD 402 school district after she retired. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, in Augusta. On April 24, 1950 she married Jimmy Burns, who preceded her in death; as well as her parents, and her two sisters Patsy Southard and Betty Diver. Mary Ann is survived by: her children, Kathy Hall and husband Jim, Connie Montgomery, Patty Apel and husband Doug, John Burns and wife Denise, Rick Burns and wife Renee, Debbie Taylor and husband Kevin, and Cindy Cummins and husband Jim, brother, Benjamin Gilliland; 21 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes memorial contributions be made out to the Kansas Humane Society, left in care of Headley Funeral Chapel.
