Lee Griffith Obituary

Lee Ellen Griffith, 79, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 after a lengthy illness.  She was born in St. Francis, KS on February 1st, 1939.  She is the daughter of the late Kenneth Wayne and Marjorie Ayres.

Lee grew up in Pratt, KS and graduated from Pratt High School.  She attended Kansas State University before marrying Robert D. Griffith on March 28th, 1959.  Bob and Lee made their home and raised their children in Augusta, KS.  Lee was a stay at home mom who also dabbled in local real estate.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and The Lady Bugs.  Lee shared her floral talents with the Central Baptist Church and enjoyed the occasional chaperoning for the Miss Kansas Pageant.

Bob and Lee enjoyed many years socializing with their bridge group.  As a group, they not only played cards but also traveled, had parties, and spent many lake weekends with their families.

Lee's talents included sewing for her family, the Augusta High School Theater Department and the Augusta Community Theater.  She also took sculpting classes when her kids left home, which gave her great joy.

In Lee's later years when she was better known as "GG", her favorite times were the many travels with Bob, their kids and grandkids.  From 1993 through 2013 the family traveled together to San Francisco, Padre Island, Colorado, Chicago, New York City, and many Oklahoma lake weekends at Western Hills Guest Ranch and Grand Lake.

Lee is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bob; daughters DeeAnn Bisagno (Dave) of Augusta, LeeAnn Fiser (Mike) of Tulsa, OK, and Dana Kossow (Bill) of Salina, KS; grandchildren, Alyssa and Bobby Bisagno; Luke, Joey, Will & Sara Fiser; and Kamen, Sydney & Sadie Kossow.  She was preceded in death by her parents, K Wayne and Eleanor Ayres, Marjorie Lee; sister, Sara Hampton; and granddaughter, Darian Bisagno.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, Augusta.
