Joann Spickler, 78, of Augusta, KS, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019. Memorial graveside service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Joann was born in Viper, KY on October 9, 1940, to the late Ollie (Branson) and Ivory Hall. She owned Ed's Express convenience store with her husband, and prior to owning the convenience store she was a CNA at AMCI in Augusta. On June 13, 1955 she married in Edgar Spickler in Jellico, TN. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jack, Hargis, and Grigsby Hall; and grandson, Joel Wasson. She is survived by: sons, Keith Spickler and wife Robin of Overland Park, KS, Rick Spickler and wife Shelly of Oklahoma City, OK, Adam Spickler and wife Beth of Augusta, KS; daughter, Rita Wasson and husband Mike of Acworth, GA; sisters, Bonnie Martin of Corbin, KY, Louise Carpenter of Steinhatchee, FL, Linda Knox, of Cincinnati, OH, Brenda Wolfe, of Bartlett, TN; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
