Jewell Mahannah, 101, of Augusta, KS, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019. Memorial service 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Inurnment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Jewell was born on a farm near Tipton Ford, MO on January 22, 1918, to the late Pearl (Shuey) and Lee Powers. On September 2, 1937 she married Joseph Alva Mahannah in Augusta, KS. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by: brothers, Rodney, Howard, and Leonard Carl Powers; sister, Leona McDowell. She is survived by: daughters, Janice Mahannah and husband Bob Casey of Farmington, MO, and Ronda Duvanel and husband Henry of Shawnee, KS; son, Marlin Mahannah and wife Colleen of Augusta, KS; grandchildren, Joshua (Pamela), Daniel (Rachel), Megan, Doyle "DJ", and Jesse (Sarah) Mahannah, Troy Duvanel, Nicole Keech (Shawn), Joe Moskus (Penny); 15 great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Willing of Augusta, KS.
