Jerry Clark Hess

Jerry Clark Hess, 81, of El Dorado, KS, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Friday, July 6, 2018 and service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Jerry was born in El Dorado, KS on October 4, 1936, to the late Maxine (Wadsworth) and Edwin Earl Hess. He was a Certified Public Accountant and owned Hess and Company in Augusta for many years. He later worked for the Gazette as their accountant. Jerry enjoyed many different sports, but he was best known for playing fast pitch soft ball and golf. Later in life, Jerry and his wife spent 12 years in Rogers, AR playing golf and enjoying life before coming home to be with their kids and grandkids. He will be remembered as a kind and honest man. On March 19, 1960 he married Gloria Sue (Krouse) who survives him. He is also survived by: daughter, Debbie Collins and husband Mitchell; son, Rick  Hess and wife Carla; son, Scott Hess and wife Christy; grandchildren, Lindsay McLean (Ken), Cahlen Davidson, Aubrey Farley (Brandon), Hayley Witte (Nathan), Amber Turner, Alec Hess, Gavin Hess, Drew Hess; great grandchildren, Caden, Austin, and Lily McLean, Braiden Ruffo, Korbin Farley, Mila Witte, Makenzie Farley.
