Dale Walter Obituary

Dale E. "Pete" Walter, 74, of Benton, KS, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at home. Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Dale was born in Wichita, KS on April 5, 1944, to the late Eleanor "Bo" (Maple)  and Robert  Bruce  Walter.  He served in the U.S. Navy, and  later worked as an over the road truck driver for Grede Foundry. Dale was a member of Brothers of the Third Wheel trike club. He was known for being a kind, ornery, and sweet man who always had a smile on his face and kept the heart of a child for all his years.  Dale always found the fun and the funny in things. He was a devoted husband, loving father, trusted friend to many, and will be greatly missed. On August 24, 1965 he married Kathy (Casady) who survives him. He is also survived by: daughter, LaDale Schnittker and husband Kelly of Wichita, KS; son, Kevin Walter and wife Jana of Rose Hill, KS; son, Shane Walter of Haysville, KS; sister, Charlene Muret of Ponca City, OK; sister, Joyce Casady and husband Rick of Benton, KS; brother, Rob Walter of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Erika Schnittker, Darrin Dennett, Reygan Walter, Rylan Walter, and Kayden Walter; great granddaughter, Paxtyn Dennett. Memorial donations to Brothers of the Third Wheel, P.O. Box 2550, Cortaro, AZ 85652.
